Nick Horler

Nick Horler, 49, joined ScottishPower as CEO in June 2008 following an impressive career in which he has held senior strategic roles at companies in the UK and abroad.
Most recently, he was Executive Director of E.ON UK plc and Managing Director of Powergen Retail. Prior to this, he spent two years as Powergen Sales and Marketing Manager with three years as Managing Director in the Trading Division of Powergen.
Previously, Nick spent 12 years with Philips Petroleum (now Conoco Phillips), where he progressed to Sales and Marketing Director. Along the way, he spent three years in the USA as Supply and Trading Manager and then Risk manager.
Following university, Nick’s career kicked off with a two-year stint as an Assistant Auditor before changing direction with his move to Phillips Petroleum.
As CEO with Powergen Retail, Nick had responsibility for turnover of £6bn, 6,000 staff, 11 locations in UK and overseas and responsibility for UK Brand communications. His duties as MD of Energy Trading Division at Powergen included responsibility for integrated gross margin for the UK business, Trading, Power, Gas, Oil and Coal.
Nick is 49, married with a family of three. He attended the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and subsequently gained an MBA from Warwick University.
