Major Marketing Recruitment Drive At ScottishPower

17 May 2000

ScottishPower is launching a major recruitment drive in its marketing and customer service divisions, in order to support the level of activity required within the constantly growing company.

As one of the world's leading utility companies and with 190 electrical appliance outlets across the UK, ScottishPower is looking to recruit 30 people as soon as possible. The jobs are mainly within the product development, product marketing and customer relationship management arenas.

Unusually for a drive such as this one, the company is determined not to list a range of job titles and grades, as it wants to encourage an assortment of people with a wide variety of experience and talent to start up a dialogue with the consultants managing the drive Munro Consulting in Glasgow. Part of the marketing drive is to identify marketeers for succession planning within the company.

"ScottishPower is growing rapidly and we need top level marketeers and customer service professionals to ensure we remain strategic and focused in every key area of the business," explained marketing director, Dominic Kelly. "The last thing we want to do is be prescriptive about the sort of people we want to talk to. We're willing to listen to anyone who feels they have the ambition and creativity to drive every area of the business, or even take us into new one."

Ten of the positions will focus on a range of high profile joint ventures currently being investigated or progressed, helping to ensure maximum benefit is achieved from each of them.

Recruitment advertising will be placed in a range of top UK marketing titles and key national Scottish press. The advertising will also be backed up by a strategic trade PR campaign.
