Michael Ball's Roof Top Rehearsal for Scottish Charity Concert
3 March 2000
Michael Ball was today (Friday 3 March) joined by musicians from the Royal College of Music on the roof garden of ScottishPower's London office to begin preparing for his Scottish charity concert, in aid of the company's charity initiative, PowerPartners.
It is hoped that the concert will raise over a hundred thousand pounds for ScottishPower's six partner charities.
The concert, on the 15 March at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, will also feature the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. It will include a wide range of Michael Ball's most recent material and classic songs from the many West End shows he has starred in, including Aspects of Love, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.
PowerPartners is a charity partnership between ScottishPower and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB), Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), Age Concern Scotland, Disability Scotland/Disability Wales/RADAR in England, NCH Action for Children and WaterAid.
The key objectives of the partnership are to raise income to fund social investment projects in Scotland, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the South East of England. It also aims to raise awareness of special needs in the community.
