ScottishPower today announces the signing of an agreement to sell part of the company's Retail business to Powerhouse Retail Limited for an undisclosed sum.

Under the agreement 99 ScottishPower stores and a portion of its warehouse and distribution activities at Mossend and Castleford are being sold.

Around 1500 members of staff will transfer to Powerhouse.

In June ScottishPower announced its intention to move out of electrical retailing as part of its strategy to focus on energy.
