ScottishPower Raises Over £150,000 At Michael Ball Charity Concert

16 June 2004

Last night at a packed Edinburgh Festival Theatre, ScottishPower raised over £150,000 for charity at a special concert starring Michael Ball and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The concert, attended by 1800 people, was in aid of the company's charity initiative, PowerPartners.

PowerPartners is a charity partnership between ScottishPower and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB), Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), Age Concern Scotland, Disability Scotland/Disability Wales/RADAR in England, NCH Action for Children and WaterAid. The money raised at the concert will help fund social investment projects in Scotland, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the South East of England. The initiative also aims to raise awareness of special needs in the community.

The concert featured a wide range of Michael Ball's most recent material and classic songs from the many West End shows he has starred in, including Aspects of Love, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. It was attended by supporters and workers from the charities, ScottishPower employees and guests and members of the public.
