ScottishPower today announced that on 14 January 2005 its regulated US subsidiary, PacifiCorp, filed a general rate case request with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) for approximately $15 million related to increased operating costs associated with generation resource additions, employee related costs, and general inflation impacts.

If fully approved by the IPUC, the impact to customers is expected to be a net increase of approximately 9.2% from rates presently in effect, after the elimination of surcharges due to expire in September 2005.

The company is requesting an allowed rate of return on equity of 11.125%, in line with recent requests in other states. The rate case is expected to be resolved by September 2005.
